GoogleDocs plugin enhanced

GoogleDocs plugin enhanced!
Since today, Google API officially provides document download. So I can improve the GoogleDocs plugin to have all your docs exported to your 'My Google Documents' folder and directly editable inside it with a desktop application (like Word).

I've checked that the document history is not destroyed, but the modification steps (when you modify your document from your desktop application) are very raw (for example, "slide removed" + "slide added").
And beware, your document history is cleared when you move a document from a folder to another one within your My Google Documents folder (usually on your USB drive). Eventually it's very difficult to detect a file move on a filesystem, so, in Olipo sync engine: a file move == a file copy + delete.

Old and New

Today I've decided to change the logos style, to make them closer to our Pirouette logo (the pink happy running chap to the left).

Here are the old ones:

And then the new ones:

(I hope I didn't do a mistake by changing them... ;))

My brother request

My brother asked me if it is possible to develop a plugin which exports his iTunes playlists to his USB drive. Done! (and available here, for Mac and Windows)
Wait for your version to be automatically updated or manually download the newest executable here.

And maybe you noticed that it is now possible to configure a little more the RSS plugin (you can limit the imported files only to the newest ones).

A little more about us

Again today I had to fill in papers about the company (vision, mission, product and all that stuff to put in a business plan). I paste that here, just to share.

Company vision: Everyone own more and more data, personal and shared, spread in the Internet cloud, hosted by many web services or scattered accross many devices. Our product, Olipo, is a little software application, smoothly bundled and mobile, that grabs all your scattered data to you.

Mission: Olipo enables the convergence of the desktop world and the web world for users' data. With Olipo, users get the best of the two worlds. Files/folders manipulations are easy, convenient, painless, fast and well-known; Web Services are beautiful, innovative and rich-featured (sharing, commenting, publishing...). Olipo is the application in the middle: it simplifies and automatizes the upload/download process, it handles the mapping between files/folders and abstract web data.

Main Product, aka Olipo: Olipo is a little software application that holds all the synchronization complexity for you. You simply download and launch it and it jumps onto your USB drive, waiting for the "plugins" you choose on our plugin store. You may choose a Picasa plugin to automatically get and send your photos on Picasa, an RSS plugin to automatically update your USB drive with the newest mp3s from franceinter.com, or a box.net plugin to save your files on Box servers.

That's all folks today.

GDrive already exists

Rumors about GDrive from Google are arising. But let me say why I think you can find all you need from GDrive in our Olipo GDrive based on GMail plugin:

- All the files you dropped in your "Gdrive" folder in your USB drive (or local folder if you don't use any USB drive) are automatically replicated to your Gmail account and labelized with the "gdrive" label.
- The generated emails with attached files are not highlighted in your Inbox and do not annoy you when you use your Gmail account.
- It works also with big files because they are automatically splitted into small parts by Olipo engine.
- To share a file, it's very simple: drop it into your Gdrive folder, as soon as the little red arrow disappears, the file appears in your Gmail account in an email as an attached file. Then you can simply forward the email to friends and they will receive the attached file. You do not have to manually attach the file.
- When you receive an email with an attached file, you can manually labelize it with the "gdrive" label and it will be automatically imported to your USB drive. If you accidentally delete it from your USB drive, it will be imported back.

Great! Once you've installed the Gdrive plugin, your files are accessible from your phone Internet browser at this address:

And of course, you can also upload any of your files from your phone to your Gdrive!
